“It is such a relief to know my website maintenance and security is covered.”
“Now when something needs updating, I just send them a message and it's done.”
“...I literally got three days of my month back.”
“...Jeane's team migrated and fixed everything in a day plus set up real security.”
“She saves me countless hours, allowing me to focus on what I do best!”
Website HQReferral program terms
These terms apply to current Website HQ clients who take part in the referral program. Each client signs a copy with their own name and effective date on it.
Section 1. How the referral program works
When a business you refer becomes a Website HQ client, we send you a one-time thank-you by PayPal. A site that joins the Site Care Club pays you $200, on any plan. An SEO plan pays 30% of that business's first monthly SEO fee. A website design or redesign pays 30% of the project price.
You have earned it once that business has paid us at least one invoice and is still a client 60 days after it signs. We pay out once a month, and every payout is a one-time thank-you, so there is never anything to give back. There is no limit on how many businesses you can refer.
The Club pays a flat amount because the plans sit close together. SEO and website work are quoted differently from one business to the next, so those pay a share of what the business actually signs.
The agreement you sign covers businesses you introduce to us on or after the date on your copy.
Section 2. Who can take part
You can take part while you are a current Website HQ client.
Section 3. What counts as a referral
A business counts as your referral when all three of these are true:
- It is new to us. It is not a current or past Website HQ client, and it was not already talking with us when you introduced it.
- You introduced it to us before it signed. That can be an email to us, an email introducing us to each other, or the business naming you when we ask who referred them.
- It signs up with us and pays its first invoice.
One signed agreement is one referral. A company that signs one agreement covering several people, locations or websites counts as one referral, except in the Site Care Club, where each site counts. If two people introduce the same business, the first introduction we have in writing counts.
Section 4. What you earn
Site Care Club: $200 for each site that joins the Club, whichever plan it joins on.
SEO plans: 30% of the referred business's first monthly SEO fee. A business on a $1,997 plan earns you $599.10. One on a $2,497 plan earns you $749.10. It is based on the monthly SEO fee only, not on one-time work, ad spend or anyone else's costs.
Website design or redesign: 30% of the project price we quote and the business signs. A $4,000 build earns you $1,200. A $10,000 redesign earns you $3,000. It is based on the design and build work in the signed proposal, not on hosting, plan fees, third-party licenses or anything billed on later as a change order.
If the same business signs more than one of these, you earn each one. A business that signs an SEO plan and puts its site in the Club earns you both.
You have earned a payout once the referred business has paid us at least one invoice and is still a Website HQ client 60 days after the date it signed.
Section 5. How we pay you
We pay by PayPal once a month, for everything you earned the month before.
Any fee PayPal charges on a payment comes out of the amount you receive.
Keep a current PayPal email address on file with us. If a payment cannot go through, we will reach out to you to fix it.
Before your first payout, we will ask you for a W-9. We report payouts to the IRS as required, and you are responsible for any taxes on them.
There is no minimum payout.
Section 6. Limits
If the referred business leaves before day 60, or its first payment is refunded or reversed, there is no payout for that referral.
Once we have paid you, the money is yours. We do not take it back if the referred business leaves later, and it is not repeated monthly.
Payouts go only to you and cannot be transferred to anyone else.
Section 7. What you can and can't say for us
You are welcome to tell people about your own experience with Website HQ.
If you recommend us publicly, say that you are paid when people you refer sign up. The FTC requires that disclosure. The FTC's guidance is at ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/ftcs-endorsement-guides-what-people-are-asking.
You can't promise rankings, results, prices or discounts on our behalf. We set every client's price and scope directly with that client.
You aren't our employee, partner or agent.
Section 8. Changes and ending this agreement
We can change or end this program for future referrals with 30 days' written notice. Payouts you have already earned are still paid under these terms.
Either of us can end this agreement with 30 days' written notice. If you stop being a Website HQ client, we still pay what you have already earned.
We keep the list of your referrals and their status, and we will let you know when one signs. Questions about a payout go to [email protected].
Section 9. The fine print
Florida law governs this agreement. If any part of it can't be enforced, the rest still applies. This is the whole agreement between us about referrals.
